Alan Dyle Fussell lost his battle with cancer on March 23, 2022. Alan was a man of strong faith and character who always put the needs of others before his own. Alan loved his family and God. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Alan is survived by his wife of 43 years Debbie Fussell and their 3 daughters Sara Carson (Alaska), Kari Siegrist (Dallas, Or) and Lisa Bigmed ( Salem, Or) and his 8 grandchildren.
Alan was born to Dyle and Lucille Fussell on March 13, 1952 in Salem Or. He grew up in Salem with his parents and beloved German shepherd Flicky. He graduated from North Salem High School and as a teenager worked at Hager Gas Station. He met his wife at Oregon State University in 1971. They married June 17, 1978. Alan worked for the Salem Keizer school district for 30 years and retired in 2003. He was a member at Market Street Church of Christ and served as a deacon for 20 years.
Alan loved spending time at the beach and loved his home on the river in Gates. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years. He also enjoyed all things about military and tank history. He had an extensive model car and tank collection and would never pass up the opportunity to show everyone that visited his home. Alan had a servants heart and made friends wherever he went.
There will be a funeral for immediate family at Restlawn and a public service at Market Street Church of Christ on April 1st at 11 am.
