Albert Myron Kalei Sing
November 14th, 1942, ~ June 10th, 2023
Albert Myron Kalei Sing, 80, of Jefferson passes away peacefully surrounded by his children on June 10th, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Honolulu Hawaii on November 14th, 1942, to Margaret Nani Sing and Charles Sing and was the youngest of 3 children.
Albert spent his youngest years growing up in Honolulu and spent summers on the island of Molokai with his grandparents, and the family relocated to Kailua, Hawaii in his teenage years. He graduated from Iolani High School in 1960, and then attended Oregon State University where he met the love of his life, Virgina. The two married June 10th, 1967, in West Salem.
Albert served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base in Texas, and then Travis Air Force Base in California. He also spent nearly 2 years serving his country in Vietnam.
Upon honorably discharging from the military, He and Virgina started their new life in Oregon, where he worked for the State of Oregon Department of Revenue and the Department of Treasury for over 25 years.
Together Albert and Virgina had 2 children, and 8 grandchildren. They pursued their passions and travelled the world during their retirement, and truly spent as much time as possible with their grandchildren, who were the light and heart of Albert.
Survivors include his sister Myrna Ayau of Kailua Hawaii, Daughter Jenifer Sing of Jefferson, OR Son and Daughter in Law Timothy and Kori Sing of Stayton Oregon and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Virgina, his parents Margaret and Charles Sing, and brother Charles Sing.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday 16th, at 1:00PM at Restlawn Funeral Home 201 Oak Grove Road NW Salem, OR 97304
