Alta Lorraine “Lori” Katz
Keizer - Lori Katz, 78, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021 due to a long battle with dementia. She was born in Doeville, TN on June 2, 1942 as Alta Lorraine Garland to parents Fern Garland and Denvis Garland. At the age of 12, Lori, along with sister Wilma Garland and brothers DH Garland and Dean Garland, moved with their parents to Dallas, OR.
Shortly after graduating from Dallas High school in 1960, Lori married high school sweetheart Gerald Fink and gave birth to her only daughter, Shelly Fink. Lori went on to have a successful business career with Pacific Northwest Bell before retiring after 31 years. During that time, she was active in the company union, championing equality and benefits for company workers.
In 1983, Lori was remarried to the love of her life, Michael Katz of Chicago, IL. Lori’s hobbies included spoiling her two dogs, spending time with family and friends, listening to country music, canning, gardening, trips to Reno, Lake Tahoe and the Bay area as well as motor home living across the USA with Mike.
Lori is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Katz, daughter Shelly (Fink) Carothers, siblings and their spouses DH & Pam Garland, Dean & Julie Garland and Wilma & David Ditchen.
Due to COVID 19, there will be a quiet family only ceremony at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Lori loved her friends and family so much and wishes them all a happy, healthy and fruitful life.
