Alyn Dale Tuck was born on August 3, 1946 to Leila and Dee Tuck in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Their family moved to Oregon when Alyn was in grade school. Alyn came from a very large family, he had 2 brothers and 7 sisters. He met his wife Kathy in Junior High School, he was 14 she was 12. Alyn attended North Salem High School from 1961 to 1964. Alyn and Kathy reconnected a few years later and married on January 27, 1967 in Vancouver, Washington and have been married for 56 years. Alyn and Kathy had two children, Jason Tuck and Jennifer Wollersheim. Alyn and Kathy have 5 grandchildren: Sydney Wollersheim, Megan Tuck, Lance Tuck, Ty Wollersheim, and Eugene Weitzel.
Alyn enjoyed his family coming over for barbecues (he loved cheeseburgers) and he had a bowl of ice cream every single evening before bedtime. Alyn enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, he adored them and loved watching them play their sports. Alyn enjoyed watching old westerns, cop shows, and boxing, going to classic car shows, tinkering in his garage, camping, boating, and fishing. Alyn was liked by all! He had a way about him that made people feel they were instant friends. He always made people smile and often times belly laugh. His blue eyes, dimples, and smile were infectious.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sisters Joyce, Waunell, Peggy, and Nyla as well as his brothers Neal and Billy. Alyn was survived by his wife Kathy, his two children and five grandchildren, and sisters Twyla Tuck, Bobbie Burris, and Judy Dierks, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his very close friends John Mack and Bob Hunt.
Our family can’t thank Brookstone Memory Care’s staff and Willamette Vital Health enough, Janine and Jennifer provided amazing hospice care. If you would like to donate, please do so to one of the organizations that took such good care of Alyn.
