Bobbie was born October 11, 1930 in Rickreall, Oregon to Paul and Maud Freeman. She was the youngest of eight children. She passed away on August 26, 2010 at OHSU in Portland. She was raised on the family farm in Rickreall and graduated from Independence High School. She attended and graduated from the Oregon College of Education in Monmouth. She taught school for 20 years starting on the coast, then moving to Yamhill county where she taught in the McMinnville School District. She left teaching to be a "domestic goddess" and raise her family. She also worked as a pilot car driver when her children were young. She was a very active person and was willing to try anything once. She enjoyed playing sports, playing cards, riding bikes, and playing ping pong and lawn games. She also enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, camping, clam digging, dancing, shopping, watching movies, and bowling. She liked watching motorcycle races and attending sporting events. She was a huge Portland Trailblazers fan. She loved nature and animals. She relished spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and had a talent for sewing, craft projects, amd making flower bouquets. She was an avid gardener. She kept current with politics, sports, news, and celebrity entertainment. She enjoyed reading, listening to talk radio, doing jumbles, and working word puzzles. She rarely missed her soaps or favorite programs. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by her husband, Donald; her children Scott, Jody, and Betti; her brother Douglas "Jiggs" Freeman, her sister Betty Lindquist, her sister-in-law Ardelle Spencer; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold and Gerald Freeman, and sisters Mary Davis, Grace Herzberg, and Willetta Bannister. Memorial services will be held at the Oak Grove Church locatd at 2670 Oak Grove Road NW, Rickreall, Oregon 97331 on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11 AM. A potluck and gathering of friends and family will follow the service at the Oak Grove Grange Hall at 2700 Oak Grove Road NW, Rickreall.
