SALEM - Betty J. Robertson very peacefully went into the loving arms of Jesus on December 27, 2010. She was born in Kelso, Wash., to Charles and Beulah Jolly, the second of five children. In 1951 Betty married Jerry Miller and later after moving to Oregon the marriage ended in divorce. Betty married again in 1963 to Alton Robertson. Being a compassionate person Betty spent many of her younger years working with mentally handicapped children and adults at Fairview Hospital & Training Center as well as a long standing Nursing Facility in Salem. Deciding on a career change she chose to venture into food processing operations where she stayed until her retirement. In her earlier years she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, and later taking short trips or working in her flower garden.
Betty is survived by her six children, Marianne Miller-Dudley, Rosemary Stokes (Bud), Charles Miller (Debra, deceased), Susan Bresser, Sheila Graisbery (Bob), Sandi Robertson-Glenn (Rick), 2 foster daughters, Hazel and Shari, 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton, and 3 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Brooks Assembly of God Church, 9165 Portland Rd. NE, Salem, OR 97305. Luncheon will follow the service in the Fireside Room.
