Billie C. Dudley was born July 31,1930 in Lynchburg, Virgina to Lloyd & Jean Dudley. Death occurred Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Vancouver, Washington.
He graduated in 1950 from Corona High School Corona, California.
Bill joined the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Serving in Porto Rico. While in the military, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He finished his military service at Whitman Airfield Base in Knobnoster, Missouri.
Bill married Thelda Faye Parmenter on October 24, 1953. They were married for 54 1/2 years. They moved back to Salem, Oregon in early 1955, where Bill got a job at Oregon Pulp and Paper, that became Boise Cascade Paper-mill. They hired him for a job that they said would last for 30 days. He retired from the mill 38 years later. He also worked for Pinkerton Security for 40 years.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, one sister, wife and one son.
He is survived by one sister, Dolly Dudley of Austin, Texas. 4 sons, John David Dudley of Stockton, California, Roger Dudley of Breckenridge, Texas, Victor Dudley of Vancouver, Washington, Mark Dudley of Shenandoah, Iowa. One daughter, Judi Hays of Vancouver, Washington.
Bill loved being a husband,dad grandpa and great grandpa. He has 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Bill and his wife Thelda Faye also raised numerous foster children.
He was a hard-working man who always had a smile and corny joke to share. He loved to talk and never met a stranger, just friends whose names he didn't know yet.
Dad, you will be missed. Gone home, Forever in God's hands.
