Jerome “Bryan” Clancy passed peacefully at his home on the morning of October 8, 2022. He was comforted by his wife Pam during the last hours of his life. He was only 64 years old.
Bryan was born on February 7, 1958, in McMinnville, Oregon. He was the youngest son of Rosalie Clancy Martin nee Kechley and Marvin Clancy, and one of eight children. He grew up mainly in Salem, Oregon, with a short time in Coos Bay. He joined the Oregon National Guard his senior year at North Salem High School, from which he also graduated later that year. Bryan met and married Merry Morehead. They and had four children during their 11 year marriage; Adam, Aaron, Amber, and Austin. After serving 3 years in the Army, Bryan went to work for the U. S. Postal Service where he held many positions (letter carrier, clerk, supervisor, passport office, and more). He made many great friends during his long, distinguished career. Bryan married Pamela Howe nee Conover on July 24, 1988, and was excited about adding 3 stepsons, Alan, Scott, and Aron to the family.
After retiring from his Postal career, Bryan had more time to do what he loved; camping, boating, RV travel (lots of people have great memories from over the years of trips to Detroit Lake and Loon Lake). Also very important was spending time with friends, family, and grandkids. Bryan was a great conversationalist and was never at a loss for something to say. He was always happiest when he was with people. Bryan always liked to look his best. He often wore one of his Hawaiian-style muscle- car shirts. Bryan also loved to suit-up when the occasion arose.
Bryan’s life story would not be complete without mentioning his love of cars; all things cars—particularly muscle cars. Bryan loved acquiring cars, customizing and enjoying them, then moving on to the next one. His 2005 Chevy Silverado SS and 1967 Camaro RS convertible are the two that didn’t get away.
Bryan is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Rosalie and stepdad Frank Martin and siblings Michaelle Washburn, David Hutt, and Becky Sauseda. He is survived by his wife Pamela Clancy, children Adam Clancy, Aaron (Jaimee) Clancy, Amber (Rich) Wedlake, Austin Clancy, Alan (Kathleen) Howe, Scott (Rachel) Howe, Aron (Wendy) Howe, 15 grandchildren, siblings Carol Rogers, Michael (Angie) Clancy, Patrick Clancy, Teresa (Kayleen) Clancy, and many nieces and nephews.
