Calista Ruth Cervantes, age 59, passed away on June 21, 2024 in Salem, Oregon. She was born in Springfield, Oregon on July 30, 1964 to Kathleen Davidson and Jesse Brown. She had three sisters and two brothers.

Calista grew up in Salem, and graduated from McKay High School. She worked in the health care industry in care management in group homes, and with the disabled at Evergreen Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was married to Jose Cervantes on March 10, 1984, and shared life together for over 40 years. They were blessed with three children; Joshua, Jose, and Calysta. She enjoyed the outdoors, and liked going camping yearly, and white-water activities, along with country music and watching movies. But most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren. Calista stopped working to care for her family. Her life revolved around family, especially the grandchildren.

Calista was a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and best friend. To have crossed paths with her, you would have been so lucky. Her love was so radiant, and lit up the room. She always welcomed you with open arms and unconditional love. She was so accepting of others just how they were. She loved always with such an open heart. She helped others when she could, and she never asked for a helping hand in return.

Calista Ruth Cervantes passed away just a little shy of 60 years of life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen Davidson and Jesse Brown, and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Jose Cervantes, their three children, Joshua, Jose, and Calysta; two sisters, and two brothers, along with eight precious grandchildren.
