Carmen S. Humphrey

Carmen passed away in her Keizer home on November 11, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born on April 11, 1923 in Lake Mills, Iowa to Seth and Caroline Gettis.

She leaves behind her daughters Sharon Abendroth (husband Howard) of Mason City, Iowa; Judy Hengesteg (husband Don), Lake Mills, Iowa; Renae Fong (husband Ken) of Keizer, Oregon; and son James Humphrey (wife Meksi) of Nurnberg, Germany; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Earland Gettis and sister-in-law Clara of Salem, sister-in-law Dorothy Gettis of Keizer, and Geraldine Gettis of Lincoln City; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carmen loved her family and friends. She would visit with her family every day; she loved playing cards and just talking or being with them. She looked forward to Thursdays in Newberg and playing cards with her friends. In her earlier years, you could always count on seeing her on the golf course at Riverwood, where she had been a member for many years.

A memorial service will be held at Restlawn Chapel on Wednesday, November 19, at 1 p.m.
