Carmon Dean Carter Carmon Carter, 75, was welcomed Home into the arms of her Savior on January 5, 2021. Born May 20, 1945, to Murl and Dean Abernathy in Missouri, the family moved to Bakersfield CA, where Carmon married Roger D. Carter on August 18, 1962. They moved between Oregon and California before settling in Keizer in 1974.
Carmon walked closely with the Lord her entire life and her greatest joy was leading others to Christ and teaching them how to pray and study His Word. She accepted God’s call of intercession on her life and spent countless hours in prayer for others.
Ever-creative, Carmon loved life and laughter and enjoyed painting and teaching art classes, cooking for 2 to 200, making everything from teddy bears to wedding dresses, and so much more. She was a true gift of joy to all who knew her.
Left to celebrate her legacy are husband Roger, sons Rickie (Dawn) and Keith (Lynae), grandchildren Jillian Puette (James), Kailey Carter, Qayla Porter, and Devon Shipman, six great-grandchildren, mother Dean, sisters Janie Brar and Sandra Honea, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless family friends. Welcoming her Home are her son Rodney, brother Ronnie, and father Murl.
Flowers may be sent to Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Road NW, Salem. Viewing will be 4-8pm Wednesday, January 13, with a graveside service at 12:30pm Thursday, January 14, both at Restlawn. A Celebration of Life & Homecoming Party will be held in the future at Family Life, West Salem.
