Chester J. Vaughn

CJ was born in Orme, Tenn. to Charlie and Lela Vaughn. He went in the Army at 16 and was discharged in 1950. He met and married Juanita Elizabeth Smith and began their family of 5 children. In 1958, they moved to Salem, Ore. where he retired from the State Fairview Hospital and Training Center in 1991. Dad was the man who taught us about Life and Values simply by being a man of Honesty and of quiet Strength. He was the man we admired for his ability to lead by example or to lighten a care just by listening. He was the man we respected and was always there for us no matter what we needed. For as long as we can remember our father was this man . . . CJ is survived by his wife, Juanita; his children and their spouses: daughters, Darlene and Armand Borde, Deborah and Michael Bakkela; sons, Randy and Mary Vaughn, Ronnie Vaughn, and Thomas and Marie Vaughn; and in Tennessee, his sisters, Helen Vaughn and Mary Ruth Hych; and brother, Carl and Janie Vaughn.
