SALEM - Clarence Stace Mink, 87, passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at his home in Salem, surrounded by family. He was born in Purcell, Oklahoma, on Nov. 14, 1922, to Fielding and Leona Mink. After serving in the Army, he moved to Oregon where he joined the Carpenters Union and met his wife of 63 years, Vera (Dierks). They raised four children on their 10-acre farm in south Salem. Stace enjoyed fishing, gardening, carpentry and spending time with family and friends, barbecuing and playing an exciting game of pinochle. He is survived by his wife, Vera; and three sons, Gary Mink of Salem, Larry Mink (Dona) of Keizer and Jerry Mink (Molly) of Salem; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Clarence was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy. Visitation is from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Oct. 21, 2010, at Restlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW, Salem. Burial with Military Honors at Belcrest Cemetery Mausoleum, following funeral.
