Dana T. Campbell,16 of Salem, Oregon gained Angel wings to match her angelic voice on September 22, 2023. She was surrounded in her parent’s arms at Evergreen Hospice House in Albany, Oregon.
Dana was born March 18, 2007, in Bayannur, Inner Mongolia. She lived in Beijing, China at Blue Sky Healing Home until her greatest longing came true, to be called daughter and sister, to have a family. Dana was adopted in March 2018 and made her way to America with her family. She rolled her way into the hearts of all who met her. She taught everyone what mattered most, and that was to be surrounded by those you love. And Dana loved her family and friends! It was all that mattered to her.
A medical crisis in late 2018 left Dana fragile, but it didn’t take her smile away… or her sense of humor! Her smile was infectious and lit up the world.
Dana was granted a wish from The Make A Wish Foundation. All she wanted was to see her best friend she had grown up with. Nothing fancy. She just needed her friend. Her story was so touching that The Oregon Make A Wish Foundation highlighted it in their donation letters that year. Make A Wish America added her in their calendar that year as well.
Dana loved everything pink and if it sparkled, that was even better! She was the champion of her adapted games, “Baby Shark” and “UNO”, of which were played every night with family. Her love of music was always present. Dana’s favorite past time was being in her families warm embrace. She loved to be snuggled and read to. If you were ever lucky enough to receive a cheek hug from her, you will never forget it. Dana was pure love and a true teacher of life.
Dana’s time as a beloved daughter to Thomas and Janie Campbell and sister to Hailey Campbell could never have been long enough. They will continue to look for her in rainbows and listen for her singing in their hearts.
Special thanks to Evergreen Hospice House, Aveanna Home Health and DSP Connections for their dedication to Dana’s care.
