Darlene Delores Stewart
July 3, 1940 - October 10, 2014
Courageously and with her deep faith in the Lord, Darlene peacefully passed away at Salem Hospital, surrounded by family, and with prayers from countless friends.
Loved by all, our beloved Darlene was mother of two, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of 8. Born to Jack Wilcox and Leah Brethauer in McMinnville, she worked in the family's restaurant in Amity. After graduation from Amity High School Class of 1958, she attended business college and married her husband Robert L. Stewart in 1960. In 1964 the family moved to Alaska where Darlene was a librarian for the City of Juneau from 1974 to 1990. When Bob passed away in 1992, she relocated back to Salem.
Darlene, always active, was a member of Salem Alliance Church and loved books, travel, gardening and family. A loving and caring person, she had many adoring friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her older brother Jack Wilcox, husband Bob, and grandson Ryan McGee. Our hearts and souls will forever remember her kind and generous spirit.
At his request, no services will be held. Restlawn Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memories and condolences at RestlawnFH.com.
