Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Our father and brother passed away on April 18, 2013 at the age of 77. Darwin Gale Anderson passed away and went to meet those who passed before him. Darwin was born to Joseph and Agnes Charlotte Anderson on September 25, 1935 in Milaca, MN. The family moved to Oregon where Darwin and his brother grew up. He joined the Air Force in 1954, going on to serve his country for over 20 years. His military service included stops in England, Thailand, Gemany, New Mexico, Washington and Idaho. After his military retirement, Darwin moved on to join the United States Postal Service where he became a loyal mail carrier until his retirement in 1995.

Darwin married Frances Steinhamp in 1954. the couple went on to have 6 sons and 2 daughters. They later divorces and he settled in Salem until his death.

He enjoyed taking cruises, attending horse races at the State Fair, hunting and listening to country music.

He was preceded in death by hiis parents and a brother, Duane Anderson.

Survivors include his children, David and Fran Anderson of Lomita, CA, Darrel and Lori Anderson of Eagle, ID, Roger and Peggy Anderson of Twin Falls, ID, Lonny Anderson of Lyons, OR, Donny Anderson of Lyons, OR. Joseph and Ana Anderson of Wilsonville, OR. Lawana and Gary Frank of Sublimity, OR. and Renee and Kevin Axhelm of Stayton, OR. He is also survived by his caring brothers, Gary and Yvonne Anderson of Heppner, OR. and Lanny Jo Anderson of Salem, Or. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will by held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Restlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. Viewing will be Monday, April 22nd from 10:00 until 4:00 p.m. also at Restlawn Funeral Home.
