Dennie Ray Rayburn
January 10, 1938 - June 29, 2013
Keizer - Dennie Ray Rayburn passed away on June 29 at the age of 75. He was born January 10, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Bill and Alice (Newell) Rayburn.
Dennie's family moved to Denver, Colorado when he was six years old and he grew up there. Dennie moved to Oregon when he was 24 years old. He had two children Cory and Sheri during his first marriage. He married his wife Nancy in 1990. Dennie was a member of the Elk's lodge, past president and board member of Keizer Little League, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Four Corner's Fire Department. For many years Dennie helped run his family's business the Dari O and A & B Drive-In. It was the first restaurant on Lancaster Drive built in 1963.Then he went to work for Salem-Keizer School District and retired in 2004. He played men's softball, was an avid bowler, golfer, fisherman, and loved traveling in his RV. Dennie was an active member of Peoples Church where he ushered with his father and son. He participated in Men's ministry, Promise Keepers, and volunteered with Honor Bound locally.
Dennie was a Godly man who cared very deeply for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Alice Rayburn as well as his brother Bobby Rayburn. He is survived by his wife Nancy of Salem; his sister Patricia Rayburn of Lebanon; his uncle and aunt Johnny and Ruth Rayburn of Dell City, OK; his son and daughter-in-law Cory and Julie Rayburn of Salem; his daughter Sheri Santibanez of Salem; his step-son Chris (Katie) Gauthier; several nieces and nephews; his seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
