SALEM - Donna P. Tallman, was born on November 5, 1928 in Guide Rock, Nebraska; she was the youngest of two children. She grew up in Guide Rock and moved to Oregon when she was a teenager and graduated from Salem High School. Donna married Vern Tallman in 1949 and she stayed at home raising her two girls. In 1965 she starred working at Sprouse-Reitz in West Salem and in 1968 she started working in the photo department at Fred Meyer's in South Salem where she retired after approximately 22 years. Donna and Vern purchased their first motor home in 1987 and made yearly cross country trips in several different RV's for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, singing, painting and catalog shopping. Donna sang in the "Just for Fun Singers" group for almost 10 years and in that time they traveled to Germany. She loved painting by hand and has several paintings in her collection. She was preceded in death by spouse Vern in 2008. She is survived by daughters Teresa Snook and Loree Willnow; brother Larry Lanz and nephew Jay Lanz (Kristi); grandchildren Carrie Cameron, Ryan Snook and Heather Rhodes (Chris); great grandchildren Cameron, Rachel, Bradley and Natalie. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 21st at Restlawn Funeral Home at 201 Oak Grove Rd, Salem OR, 97304.
