Doris Deter
September 12, 1926 - July 18, 2014
Born Doris Antonichuk in Scoby, Montana, she moved with her family to Lakeview, Oregon as a young girl. She pumped gas during WWII and married Andrew Milton Deter upon his return from serving in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific.
Milt's career with the Oregon State Police Department took them from Lakeview to Klamath Falls and finally Keizer. Doris went to work for the Oregon Department of Transportation and eventually retired from there.
Doris is now at rest with her beloved husband, her granddaughter Kristin Maerz, 11 sisters and brothers and her parents. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Robert R. Moine, grandson Sean Deter, brother Joe, numerous nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Tom Bays.
Doris will be remembered for her love of family and friends, love of dancing, being a great cook and her feistiness.
She will be interred with Milt at a private service at Willamette National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Keizer Elks Club Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 4:00 PM. A special thank you goes out to all the care givers at Sweet Bye N Bye who took such good care of Doris and her family during the last months of her life. Arrangements by Restlawn Funeral Home.
