Originally from Iowa, she met and married Elmer Nelson and started their family. They moved to Oregon for work and to raise their children, settling in Salem in 1963.
A woman of many talents, she was as skilled at woodworking and rock polishing as she was at crocheting and quilting. She enjoyed a number of hobbies and activities: camping, fishing, bird watching, travel, and a good rummage sale!
A much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She leaves behind the love of her life and husband of 71 years, Elmer Nelson, along with their 4 children; Douglas Nelson (Virginia), Paula Rawlins (Jim), Steven Nelson (Kim), Janet Briles (Mike), 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She will be missed more than any words can express.
A private graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
