Dorothy “Dottie” Wilson of Dallas Oregon, died early Saturday morning the 23rd of June, 2018 in her home at the Dallas Retirement Village. Dorothy is survived by her 3 daughters; Sandra Soares, Kathleen Crowley and Julie Bellew, stepson; John Wilson, 3 grandchildren; Erin Dawson, Jimmy Bellew and Brian Wilson, 4 Great Grandchildren; Danielle and Robert Moss and Marina and Leila Wilson, brother-in-law; Tom Wilson, and niece; Jamie Wall.
Dorothy was born in Rockford, Illinois, daughter of Elsie and Herbert Hansen, who both immigrated to the United States from Denmark and Germany in 1920.
Dorothy spent her childhood in San Diego, California, where she graduated from Pt. Loma High School in 1947.
Dorothy spent most of her life in Dallas Oregon, where she met and married William Wilson in 1961. Together they had a wonderful life, married 47 years until the passing of Bill in 2008.
Dottie was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family more than anything in the world. She also loved to travel and did so with her husband and oldest daughter Sandy. Their travels took them to Europe, Asia as well as Hawaii and Mexico where Bill and Dottie enjoyed many post retirement trips.
In honor of Dorothy, there will be a gathering of family and friends, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 12 pm at the Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon. There will be a viewing before services from 10-12pm. Please visit
