Douglas Dean Mocaby, 74, of Dallas Oregon, passed away on January 9, 2017.
Doug was born in Boise, Idaho to Ernie and Ada Mocaby on March 15,1942. He Joined the United States Navy on Mar 25, 1956, and served 6 years, leaving the service as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class. He served on the naval aviation support ships USS Salisbury Sound AV-13 & USS Uvalde AKA-88. After leaving the Navy he settled in Salem Oregon and thru friends he met, and married Carol Schroyer on Nov 28, 1964 at the St Mark Lutheran Church. After completing his service in the Navy, he went to work at Boeing in Seattle by riveting the wings onto airplanes, where he won numerous awards for efficiency and safety. After multiple layoffs and rehires he changed career paths and went into logging. He worked for Wimer Logging for many years as a choker setter, faller, and finally landing foreman, before retiring.
Doug is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years Carol, father Ernie, mother Ada (Stanfield), sister Barbara (Pittman), brothers Gene, Albert and George.
Doug is survived by his sister Lavada(Shaw) of North Carolina, brothers Irvin, Roy and Blaine of Idaho, son Tad (Loretta) of Hillsboro, daughter Tracey (Dan) Seiber of Salem, grandchildren Ryan, Maya, Jarod, Christian, and Angela.
