Eileen Ann Hammond Hesketh

Eileen Ann Hesketh (née Hammond), age 100, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, in Wickenburg, Arizona.

Eileen was born on March 13, 1924, in Miller, South Dakota, to Christopher and Alice Hammond. She grew up in a loving family alongside her four sisters and one brother. She later moved to Oregon, where she graduated from Hubbard High School.

Eileen married William (Bill) Hesketh in 1945, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. Together, they raised their children and created a home that was always warm and welcoming. She is survived by her son Kenneth Hesketh (Lorraine) and daughter Rosalie Cowan (Rick). Her legacy continues through her granddaughters Ann Arnett (Chris) and Marcy Davis (Jeff), as well as her four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A woman of deep faith, Eileen was a long-time attendee of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where she was very active in the Altar Society. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was a source of strength and comfort to her and those around her.

Eileen had many passions that brought joy to both herself and those who knew her. She loved sewing, bowling, and gardening-each hobby reflecting her patience, skill, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She was known for her kindness and gratitude, always thankful for her family and the blessings she had in life. Those who met Eileen were touched by her warmth and generosity of spirit.

A Funeral Mass will be held on March 6, 2025, at 11:00 am, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, located at 1010 Columbia St NE in Salem, Oregon. Immediately following the service, a graveside service will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at 201 S Oak Grove Rd NW in Salem, Oregon.

Eileen's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
