Elaine E. Griffith, age 86, slipped away quietly on March 22, 2011 following complications after surgery.
She was born near Akron, Colorado to John and Nila Farm, fourth of seven children. She grew up for the most part in Caruthers, California. She graduated from Caruthers High School, where she met her sweetheart, Carl Griffith. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in October, 2010. They lived in a number of places through their lives, but home was in the Eola Hills west of Salem, where they raised three daughters. In her later years she and Carl lived in Crooked River, Oregon, after which they joined their grandchildren, Arne and Terri, and their family's household in Dallas, Oregon.
Elaine was an accomplished portrait artist. She also loved traveling, as well as gardening and sewing.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Carl Griffith, three daughters, Joyce Griffith, Laurie Anderson, and Jill Griffith, her brother, Lee Farm, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may view Friday, 2-7 PM at Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
