Ernest F. "Ernie" Mueller, 96 passed away Thursday October 8, 2015 with his loving wife, Dolores by his side. Ernie was born to Theadore and Maria (Hensal) Miiller, in Anamoose, N.D. on January 29, 1919. He married Dolores D. Weber in Drake, N.D. on April 14, 1944. They celebrated 71 years of marriage this last April.
Ernie & Dolores worked and farmed around Drake and later moved to Alaska in 1951. He worked for the City of Fairbanks for 17 years before moving to Oregon. Ernie became a small business owner while in Oregon, starting with the Ochoco Restaurant & RV park at the Ochoco Reservoir and then operating petroleum bulk plants both in Lakeview and Gold Beach Or. He then moved to Mt. Hebron, Ca. where he owned the Mt. Hebron Grocery for a number of years. Ernie and Dolores retired to Merrill, Oregon and then settled in Klamath Falls for the past 20 years.
Ernie's hobbies were bowling, horseshoes, and bingo, snow birding to Arizona, and traveling to other states. He and Dolores often visited their families in North Dakota, creating a bond with all his family. Ernie enjoyed fishing the rivers and ocean along the Oregon & California coast. Even though he could not swim he never hesitated to take his boat on the ocean and became a successful fisherman. Ernie played the accordion by ear and did a mean session on the spoons. He enjoyed old time polka music and could dance with the best of them. Ernie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Golden Age Club and Senior Citizens.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Dolores, sons Gary (Judy),and Ron, 6 grandchildren, Mitch and Bryan Mueller, Klamath Falls, Or., Kevin Mueller, Salem, Or., Charlotte Qunlin,W.Va., Christina Harvey, and Regina Klamath Falls, Or., 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Sister in Law Roslyn Lueck, Fairview, Mt., brother in law Clarence "Bud" (Alice) Weber, Corvallis, Or. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, all 10 of his siblings and 1 grandson.
Memorial services will be held Friday October 16, 2015 at 1 PM in Zion Lutheran Church, 1025 High St., Klamath Falls, Or., with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or your favorite charity.
