Evelyn Petersen passed away on July 14, 2015.
She was born August 27, 1925 in Yakima, WA. She grew up in Yakima with her 5 other siblings and moved to Seattle when she was 16 years old. There she met Alvin John Gran and they were married February 21, 1944.
After 48 years of marriage, raising their wonderful family, enjoying their grandchildren, Alvin died suddenly. A few years later Ev's path crossed with Carl Petersen. After a brief courtship they were married on Jan.22, 1994 and have enjoyed 21 years of marriage.
She was remembered as beautiful, resourceful, a decorator and merciful in spirit. She loved music, flowers and anything pretty. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, gardening and family reunions. With her second husband, she enjoyed a trip to Europe for 4 weeks and saw her father's homeland in Switzerland!
At the age of 12, Evelyn invited Jesus into heart as Lord and Savior. She trusted in the work of Christ on the cross to forgive all her sins. She especially enjoyed the years as an adult when she was involved with "Bible Study Fellowship". O, how she loved Jesus and encouraged others to, also!
After a full life and a family full of love, Ev's final battle with pain was translated into victory on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 as she quietly and peacefully breathed her last and joyously entered the presence of her Lord where there is no more pain, no more suffering and no more tears.
