Fisher, Gertrude A. View/Sign Guest Book Gertrude A. Fisher August 20, 1917 - August 20, 2008 CORVALLIS - Mrs. Gertrude A. Fisher died August 20, 2008 at the age of 91. Gertrude was born August 20, 1917 in Bertha, Minnesota. She married Floyd F. Fisher in Wadena, Minnesota in 1935. In 1942 the family moved to Oregon eventually settling in Monmouth. After WWII they owned and operated Fisher's Mobil Service until their retirement. Gertrude was active in civic affairs of Monmouth, the Monmouth Garden Club, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She maintained a home at Depoe Bay, traveled extensively and fished when ever possible. Her husband, Floyd Fisher and daughter, Rosalie J. Davis preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Donna K. Christopher and Glenda (Alsip) Johnson; sister, Mary E. Goodrich; brother, Dorman Shaw; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 25 at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW., Salem. Rembrances may be sent to the Monmouth Fire Department.
