Gordon L. Foster, who passed away on October 4th from surgery complications, was a native Oregonian. Gordon was born on April 30, 1934, to parents Leonard and Eddie Mae Foster. He attended Cascade High School and graduated in 1954. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany before returning to the Salem area. He got a job for the US Bureau of Indian Affairs and settled down to raise a family with his wife Marjorie Mitchell, whom he married in 1955.
Gordon will be missed by many, but especially by his surviving family including: Marjorie, his wife of over 58 years, daughter Teresa Johnson (Pat), brother Ronald Foster (Annie) and sister Bette Woolard, grandsons Jeremy Foster (Sarah), and Ryan Johnson (Heather), and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Restlawn Funeral Home in West Salem on Friday October 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
