Terrebonne, OR- Harry passed from this life at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Richardton N.D. and lived on the farm his mother homesteaded until age 8 when they moved to Oregon. After his school years he worked for United Airlines and then joined the Navy during WWII. He returned to Salem, OR after the war and married Maxine McDonald. He worked for Boise Cascade and retired as a machinist after 35 years. During this time they raised 5 children and provided a temporary home for about 30 foster children. He moved to Central Oregon after retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his family. He was the family handyman, helping everyone with the smallest project to building complete homes.
Harry was preceded in death by his father and mother: Paul and Clara (Muecke) Wieglenda; brothers, Ernest and Robert; sister, Sadie; grandson, Travis; and son-in-law, Norm. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maxine; sisters, Mildred, Pearl and Leotha; children, Ronald (Dody), Becky, Mark (Shar), Todd (Kathy), and Kristel; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday Nov. 14, 2011 at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Donations in memory of Harry may be made to Partners in Care Hospice, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend OR 97201 or your local hospice group. Arrangements by Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem.
