Iona Lydia Hardman Iona Lydia Hardman November 11, 1924 - July 20, 2009 SALEM - Iona Lydia Hardman, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away on July 20, 2009 of cancer. Iona was born November 11, 1924 in Alexandria, South Dakota to Jacob and Christina Hafner. She married William Hardman on July 10, 1943. They were married for 54 years. Iona worked for SAIF for 20 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was involved with the quilting and altar circles. She was an avid seamstress and quilter. Iona loved working on crafts and needlework. She enjoyed many hours of working in her garden and canning. She is survived by her daughter, Sherron (Kent) Bousfield of Folsom, Calif.; son, Richard Hardman of Salem; daughter, Susan (Ralph) Fough of Salem; daughter, Kay (Glen) Reynolds of Meridian, Idaho. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kevin (Amy) Bousfield, Greg (Lisa) Bousfield, Todd Hardman, Tony Hardman, Kyle Hardman, LeRoy Helton, Dawn (Jonathan) Tiller, and Robyn (Zeth) Lannigan; great-grandchildren, Christopher Helton, and Ryan, Seth, and Kate Bousfield; and sisters, Rolanda Rasmussen and Jackie Denfield. She was preceded in death by husband, William Hardman; her parents; and five sisters. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Fri., July 24 at Restlawn Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tues., August 4, 2009 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Salem.
