Salem- Iva Louise Liner Simons was called home to the Lord after a short battle with th complications of old age. She was 92. Born in Dustin, Oklahoma, Louise came to Oregon nearly 70 years ago. Among her many life accomplishments she was most proud of being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. An independent woman, she lived alone after the passing of her husband 40 years ago. She appreciated the simple pleasures of life and really enjoyed her strawberry soda and cornbread muffins. She was a proud and extremely generous contributor to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Louise was always quick with a joke and held her sharp wit and sense of humor all the way to the end of life's path. Louise was the last of seven children of Coleman Pierce and Eva (Jones) Pierce. Louise was preceded in death by her children, Larry and Charlene; brother, William (Leo); five sisters, Latril, Jewell, Edith, Jeane and Barbara; husbands, R.G. Liner and Carl Simons. She is survived by her grandchildren, her wonderful friend and cousin, Geraldine Cummings of Oklahoma; her nephew, friend and caretaker, Bob Gallagher of Keizer. She will be missed. At her request there will be no services, but donations to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and VFW would honor her memory. Arrangements by Restlawn Funeral Home.
