Jay Dee Hammock, Jr., of Salem, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2015, at the age of 65, as the result of injuries sustained in a recent fall. He was born in Albay, Oregon, July 9, 1950, to JD Hammock and Delores Henschel.Jay had a great sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. He was a talented artist and welder. He enjoyed his old cars and loved to go fast. He was a Marine during the Vietnam Warm and was a member of Odd Fellows, Chemeketa Lodge.
He is survived by his son, Jason Hammock, his wife, Kemberly, and their daughters, Katelyn, Kaylie and Hannah; his sisters Susan Jones and Teresa Bendsnyder; his brother, Eric Henschel, and his wife, Kari; a cat named Honda, and his beloved Great Dane Murphy.
