JEAN LOUISE POST
Jean was born in Bandon, Oregon on November 30, 1940. After age two, she was moved to Pacific Grove, California where she grew up and graduated from Pacific Grove HS. After high school, she moved to Wiesbaden, Germany where her dad, Ted Compton was stationed in the Army. She lived with her dad there as well as her mother Amy. She also had a brother, Jack Compton who preceded her in death along with her dad and mother.
While in Wiesbaden, she met and married Ron Post who was serving in the US Air Force. Jean and Ron were reassigned to Luke Air Force Base, Arizona where they delivered their first born, William (Bill) Post. After leaving the Air Force, Ron and Jean moved to Southern California and during that time they were blessed to have two more children, Sheri, and Dawn.
In 1971, the family moved to Albany, Oregon and would later live in Redmond, Salem, Lake Oswego and finally Dallas, Oregon in 2008 where she lived until the time of her passing on December 5, 2022.
While living in Salem, Jean helped Ron begin Medical Teams International (formerly Northwest Medical Teams) and later moved it to Portland. Jean was very instrumental in helping Medical Teams grow over the years. She was devoted to the mission of saving lives here and around the world. She shunned the spotlight but was always working to help expand the mission. Those who knew her, loved her personality and her bright smile of encouragement.
Jean had a deep love for Jesus Christ, and she was a student of the Bible having attended ten years of Bible Study Fellowship. Her Bible reading and prayer time was always precious to her, and her life reflected it. She attended Salem Evangelical Church for 22 years.
Jean deeply loved her children and six grandchildren. She was always available to them and always praying for them. She is survived by her husband, Ron, her children, Bill, Sheri, Dawn, daughter in law Colleen and 6 wonderful grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
Per request, there will be a private service and burial at Willamette National Cemetery. To honor Jean, please consider sending a donation in her name to Medical Teams at
