Jerry Wandel Griffin

February 10, 1933 — March 2, 2013

Jerry W. Griffin was born in Sudan, Texas, on February 10, 1933. He was blessed to enjoy his 80th birthday party with most of his family surrounding him with love. He passed on from this life on March 2, 2013.
Jerry was the son of a Primitive Baptist preacher who traveled extensively from the West Coast to the East Coast, so he was able to meet lots of wonderful friends who were very good to him. He was exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ all of his life. Jerry loved being in the church and hearing the singing, preaching, and enjoying fellowship with others. He was a member of the Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church of Grants Pass, Oregon.
Jerry lived at Briarwood Manor in Keizer, Oregon, for almost 17 years. While there, he saw many neighbors come and go, and he enjoyed all of them.
In recent years, he was able to travel with his sister and brother-in-law to many places of interest including family reunions in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, California, and Washington. He enjoyed the adventure of road trips, airplane, and train trips.
Jerry is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Vanada and Herb Morris. He also has a host of nieces and nephews he dearly loved. Nephews: Ken Morris and his wife Lisa, Richard Traver, Justin Traver and his wife Danielle and their two children Joe and Josie, David Hearrell and his son Cayden. Nieces: Teresa and her husband John Cook, Genoa and her husband Shannon Molden, Vikkie Stocker and her four children (Lee, Alicia, Alex, and Brittney), Cassie and her husband Chris Schmoeckel, Chelsea and her husband Caleb Marinos. Eva Parker is his only surviving aunt living in Salem, Virginia.
