Joe Richardson passed peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus on June 23, 2022 at home in Salem he was 89. Joe was born to Archie and Sarah EvaLee Richardson on January 14, 1933 in Turpin, Oklahoma; he was preceded in death by his siblings Udell, Darlene, Donna, Archie, McGlendon, and Oleta. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Esther; his children: Steve, Tim, Donnella, Jolene, David, Sarita and Tamara; his 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He grew up in California, graduated from Sharon Bible/High School then graduated Holmes Bible College. His work trade was carpentry but his heart was ministry. Joe was ordained as a minister at a young age; he met and married Esther and began missionary work in Alaska and Africa for eleven years. After a few years in Cottage Grove moved to Salem to pastor Salem Gospel Church for ten years. He loved the Bible; he continued ministering, teaching, preaching and writing bible studies long into his life until his illness overcame his abilities. Joe was a joyful, loving man; a great husband, father, grandfather and pastor—he will be deeply missed.
Rev. Joe Richardson’s viewing is 9am-1pm with a funeral service at 1pm on 7/23/22 at Restlawn Funeral Home; Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30pm in Room A at People’s Church.
