Joetta Ann Barker went home to Jesus on December 5, 2021 at age 83.
Joetta was born to Albert and Lois Wilson on May 20, 1938 in Albany, Oregon. As a child and young adult, she enjoyed being outside working alongside her dad and brothers on the farm.
Joetta met her husband, Elwyn G Barker in 1956. They married on May 4, 1957 in Sheridan, Oregon and went on to have three children, Lori, Mike and Jeff. They lived and raised their family in Perrydale, Oregon. She was a member of Sheridan Christian Church and Amity Christian Church while living in the Willamette Valley. In 2007, after retiring from the State of Oregon where she worked for over 25 years, they moved to the La Pine, Oregon area where she was a member of High Lakes Christian Church.
In addition to being a dedicated, loving mother, and grandmother, Joetta loved helping others, whether it be taking them meals, driving them to the doctor, and at times caring for them in her home. She enjoyed being actively involved with her family, the outdoors, fishing and hunting, or just going for a ride in the car to an unknown destination. Joetta also loved to host dinners for friends and family. She was very active in the churches she attended, from playing the piano or organ for Sunday services to teaching a Life Group in her home. Throughout her adulthood, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Joetta joins her parents, Albert and Lois Wilson, her brother, Ron Wilson, and her niece, Ronna Wilson, in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Elwyn, her brother, Larry Wilson, her children, Lori (Gene) Rasar, Mike (Jennifer) Barker, and Jeff (Carol) Barker, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
