June A. Wells June A. Wells June 21, 1920 - April 19, 2010 SALEM - June A. Wells, 89 years young, passed away at home surrounded by her children. June was born June 21, 1920 in McMinnville, Ore., to Clarence B. Carson and Mabel Taylor and was the youngest of six children. June worked in the ship yards as a ship fitter, was a sandwich girl at Court Street Dairy Lunch, along with a few other jobs. June married Leroy L. Wells April 5, 1947 in Vancouver, Wash. She began work in 1946 at Gould National Battery she left the company in 1957 returning again in 1961, retired from there in 1982 with a total of 32 years. Over the years she was a member of the Eagles and American Legion Aux. June loved to do gardening, arts/crafts, travel, and visit Casino's. She liked listening to Dean Martin and shared how she used to love to go dancing. Her biggest joy was hosting Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy on June 16, 1982; he was a retired journeyman millwright for Boise Cascade and a WWII vet who served his country as a sergeant in the Army Air Corp.; and siblings, Clarence, Leona, Willard, Alice, and Catherine "Cappy". She is survived by half brother, Don Carson of Klamath Falls; son, Franklin R. Wells (Linda); daughter, Alice A. Heath (Jeff); and grandchildren, Aaron, Franklin (Jessica) and Kenneth (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Nathaniel and Kylie; nephews, Marvin, Sonny, and many, many other nephews and nieces. There will be a Memorial Service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27 at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW, Salem, followed by a celebration of life at 4407 Bren Loop NE, Salem. June's family sincerely thanks Salem Hospital, family and friends that supported her during her time with cancer, with special thanks to Willamette Valley Hospice.
