It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Laurie Phillips on August 10 after complications from a heart attack. She was 60 years old.
Laura A. Phillips was born to Vernon and Patricia Husted on May 21, 1961 in Salem, Oregon. She spent her life in and around the Salem/Keizer area, going to school at McNary High, raising her daughters, and enjoying life to the fullest.
Laurie worked as an Administrative Support Supervisor for the Polk County Sheriffs Department since 2017 and in the same field for Keizer Police Department the previous 22 years, where she was known for her work ethic, professionalism and knowledge. She was never one to shy away from a challenging task.
She loved Summer. Any reason to go to be at the beach, she would take it. She was spontaneous and fun loving.
Laurie was undoubtedly devoted to her daughters and grandchildren. She always put them first in any circumstance. She loved her family fiercely and without falter.
Laurie will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents, Vernon & Patricia Husted, her daughters, Michelle, Nichole, Ashley, and Brenda, her life partner, Arn Boge, and 8 beautiful grandchildren.
Funeral services for Laurie will be held at 11:00am on Friday August 20th at Restlawn Funeral Home with a reception to follow at 2pm at Keizer City Hall.
