Leonor Maria Luna, age 71 of Salem, Oregon, beloved wife, mother and grandmother drew her last breath on Wednesday, March 31st 2021 after a long battle with kidney failure.
Maria was born in Oaxaca City, Mexico and grew up along her six siblings. She loved dancing, cooking and spending time with her family. In the 70’s Maria moved to Beverly Hills California where she was a nanny for many years, this is where she met her husband Gabriel Luna. They were married and had two daughters, Angela & Marisa. Gabriel and Maria moved to Los Angeles, California she started work at the Lennox Public Library. It was there where she found her passion for books, the community, art projects and Precious Moments figurines. She thrived in this environment and was able to contribute to her children and the community for many years. In 1997 Gabriel and Maria made the decision to move to Oregon to give their daughters a chance to not be surrounds by violence and gang activity in LA. Salem, Oregon became their new home. As the years went by grandchildren came along and those little chickens became her new passion in life.
Maria was a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful soul. She is survived by her husband Gabriel her two daughters Angela & Marisa and five grandchildren Lilly, Ellie, Camila, Lincoln and Elena.
She will be placed in her final resting place on Wednesday, April 7th at Restlawn Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. She will live in our hearts and memories forever. Te amo mama.
