Leroy R. Martin

Leroy R. Martin born November 13, 1942 in Columbiana, Ohio to Abram and Mary Martin died August 24, 2014 in Salem, Oregon. He was 71 years old. He came to Albany, Oregon when he was 20 years old for Alternlive Service. He worked for Amos Eash for 2 years as a hod carrier. He then worked at Sheridan Grain Company for 10 years. Leroy then went to work at Williamina Lumber Co. and worked there for 20 years until he retired in 2000. He met Joanne Hostetler at Albany Mennonite Home, and they were married on June 19, 1965 at the Salem Mennonite Church. After retiring the couple spent winters in Wellton, Arizona. His hobbies included wood working and helping others. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and one brother.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife, Joanne, of Salem. Sister, Martha Witmer of Virginia. Children Rich and wife Sandi, 2 grandchildren; Harris and Arin, daughters: Tina & Teresa. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Western Mennonite Church, 9045 Wallace Road N.W. in West Salem.
