Leslie Dale Henrickson

Leslie (Les) Dale Henrickson, age 100, passed away on February 3rd, 2023. Les was born November 23, 1922 in Hartington Nebraska, one of 13 children, to Alfred and Selma Henrickson. He eventually moved to Oregon and met his wife Elaine (Peggy) Faye Cheney at a barn dance in Rickreal, Oregon and were married April 1st, 1944.
They moved to Salem and built their first home and raised 5 children in the Salem area. Les initially worked on a dairy in Perrydale, Oregon, Oregon Pulp and Paper mill in Salem and the State Motor Pool in Salem. To help support his growing family he worked evenings at a Richfield gas station, which he eventually purchased and ran as "Les's Arco" for 21 years.
Les was survived by his brother Richard Henrickson, three sons; David Dale Henrickson (Albany, OR), Ronald Lee Henrickson (Peoria, AZ), Steven John Henrickson (Dallas, OR), two daughters; Winona Loriane Henrickson (Salem, OR) and Sheryl Eileen Eriksen (Salem, OR). 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
The family extends a special thanks to Les's caregivers that he loved and kept him safe and comfortable during his transitions.
Les will be laid to rest next to his wife Peggy at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
