Lillian Spangler (1925 - 2011) | KEIZER - Lillian L. Spangler, age 85, died peacefully January 6, 2011 of natural causes.
She was born in Corvallis, MT to William and Esther (Walmer) Smith. She had a brother, Marvin, and soon moved to Washington State after her father's death in 1929.
She met her husband, James Spangler in high school in Gig Harbor, WA. They married in 1942, and after his time in the Army they settled in Portland and then Salem, OR. They raised five children and were active members of the Salvation Army. After living in Keizer for 30 years, they retired to Chiloquin OR, Where they enjoyed travel and volunteering with the VFW and Lion's Club.
Lillian is survived by her two sons, Richard and Larry Spangler of Salem; her daughter, Beondi Ehrgott of Spokane; their spouses; her two brothers, Wayne and Douglas Cornman; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her brother, Marvin Smith; and her two sons, Bill Spangler and Michael Bordeaux.
Services were previously held. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army. Services under the direction of Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon.
