Linda Diane Forrette was called home by God on Monday, May 7, 2018. Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salem, Oregon, Friday, May 11th. The Rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Mass following at 9:30 a.m. A procession to Restlawn Memorial Gardens for the graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. An open reception to honor her will start at 12:00 p.m. at Pringle Park Community Hall, 606 Church ST SE, Salem.
Linda was born August 20, 1944 in Independence, Missouri to parents Harry Valentine Peek and Helen Barbara Peek. She is survived by her brother Richard Peek, and preceded in death by her sister Barbara Ready. She grew up in Keizer and attended St. Marys and Sacred Heart Academy. While working as a Carhop, she met her husband of 54 years, Alan Forrette. They married December 27, 1963.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, six children and 15 grandchildren. Son, Rick Forrette; son, Joe Forrette and wife Bridget; daughter, Lisa Richard and husband, Joe; son, David Forrette; son, Randy Forrette and wife Angie; son, Chris Forrette and wife Kristin; grandchildren: Joshua Richard and wife Emily; Tyler Forrette; Kari Ouverson and husband Andy; Wolf Forrette; Ryan Forrette; Leland Forrette; Darian Forrette; Riley Forrette; Bekah Forrette; AnnaBelle Forrette; Maggie Forrette; Ayden Forrette; Triplets- Ella, Eva and Evan Forrette; and Paisleigh Forrette.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family which included holiday gatherings, birthdays and other special occasions. Christmas was always her favorite time of year. She attended school, church and extracurricular functions in order to celebrate everyone’s achievements. An avid Disney fan, Linda went on multiple trips to Disneyland with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind a legacy. A husband, six children and fifteen grandchildren all blessed by her spirit while she was here on Earth. Now that she has gone home to be with our Father she will continue to watch out for them. An angel on Earth and in Heaven. Her strength, love and kindness encouraged her family and will carry them through now that she is gone.
