Louise Adel Kraus Bowen
May 9, 1918 - February 2, 2008
SALEM - Louise was born May 9, 1918 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the only daughter of Herbert and Lottie Kraus. She grew up in San Antonio and married John Edward Bowen who was a career Air Force officer. She spent most of her married life in Albuquerque, New Mexico, moving to Salem, Oregon in 2003. She resided at Orchard Heights Assisted Living facility until the last few months of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2005. Her hobbies were painting, sewing and golfing, but her passion was her family. She was one of those rare people whom everyone loved. She was a cheerful person who never had anything unkind to say about anyone. She will be missed terribly by family and friends in both Albuquerque and Salem, but we rejoice that she is now at peace. Louise was an example of love and devotion to all who knew her. Louise is survived by her brother, Herbert Kraus of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Nancy Lobo of Jupiter, Fla.; sons, Mike (Kay) Bowen of Salem and Kenneth (Rose) Bowen of Belpre, Ohio. Her posterity includes 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Louise passed away peacefully on February 2, 2008 at Evergreen Windsor Nursing Home where she was cared for by a compassionate and caring staff. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 9th at Restlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation Saturday noon to 2 p.m.
