Our beloved mother, Louise Pruett, stepped into the presence of Jesus on November 20, 2022. Louise was born to John and Clara Starr on January 28, 1934 in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma. She attended Phoenix Union High School in AZ , graduated in 1952 and then went on to attend Arizona Bible Institute (ABI).
It was at ABI where Louise met Wayne Pruett. They were married on June 11, 1955 and went on to have 5 children, Katrina, Greg, Regina, Scott Timothy (deceased) and Tyson. Louise was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. She loved sharing the love and warmth of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mom was committed to being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She and dad together raised biological as well as foster children, and spent thousands of hours gardening, harvesting, canning and freezing their own food. Her lifestyle was one of saving, reusing, and recycling long before that became part of popular culture. Although rarely allowing herself the joy of relaxing with a good book, she valued the written word and instilled her love of reading in her children and grandchildren. Until the day before her stroke she faithfully volunteered her time at Griffin Creek Grade School helping encourage and instruct those students who struggled to read or to whom English was a second language. She used every individual encounter as an opportunity to share a Biblical principle or belief and held fast to her faith to the very end. She was a part of First Baptist Church in Medford, OR as a Sunday School and AWANA teacher. Alongside Dad, they also taught VBS just about every summer. During the school year she served as a Good News Club teacher.
Louise was a creator. From sewing, crocheting, knitting to writing and illustrating poetry and children’s stories, especially about her grandchildren. She was always in the midst of projects, hands always busy.
A simple pleasure she enjoyed was a spoonful of peanut butter, but Adam’s Peanut Butter was her favorite.
Louise joins her husband of 66 years, her son (Scott), her parents, and 7 siblings in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members including her children, daughter in law, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
‘Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too difficult or too wonderful for You- Jeremiah 32:17
