Marcie Bangert, 82, of Salem, Oregon passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 in Salem of natural causes. Marceline Marion Helten was born in North Dakota to parents Joseph and Margaret Helten. Her family moved to Salem, Oregon and she attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in downtown Salem, Oregon.

She met and married William Lee Bangert, whom has preceded her in death (1993). They enjoyed an active outdoor life together; hunting, camping, fishing, and especially competition archery, wherein Marcie was ranked #2 in the Nation and was 12 years running Pacific Northwest Women's Champion in the archery competition.

She worked for Christofferson's and VanCleave's farms for many years as bus driver and platoon leader for berry and bean harvest seasons. She also worked for the Salem-Keizer Schools as a cook in the cafeterias for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and loved gardening, especially flower gardens.

Marcie is survived by her two sons; Steve Bangert and Dave Bangert, and grandchildren; Jacob, Carrie, Kandace, and Grant, as well as great-grandchildren.

Memorial service is being held at Queen of Peace in Salem, Oregon, on Thursday October 29 at 11am.
