Petterson, Marion Harriet (Nee Wallinger) 102, died peacefully on January 30th, 2021 at Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community in Keizer Oregon. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin January 25th, 1919 to Walter E Wallinger and Veronica Chybicki. Loving wife of the late Stanley Thomas Petterson. Devoted mother of Tom (Pauline), Bruce (Ann McWhorter), Mark (Sadie), and proceeded in death by her infant son Robert, her parents, her husband Stanley, and brother Walter Wallinger. Loved by her grandchildren Eric (Krista) Petterson, Kirsten (Rob) Williamson, Brian Petterson, Matthew (Rebecca Warren) Petterson, and Lia Malihi. Loved great-grandmother of Bradley, Cassandra, Ian, Claire, Tyler. Survived by nieces Roberta (Gary) Schroeder, Barbara (Kenneth) Bonnem, Cheryl Pettersen, Wendy Petterson, Judy Wahlgren; nephews Craig (Hilary) Calhoun, Michael (Sue) Petterson and the late James (Sandra) Pettersen; cousin Carol Davis; Bonnie Blocher; Mary Petterson; Becky Beaman; and many other relatives and caring friends.
Marion’s interests included her Postcard collection; Sons of Norway; and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was proud of the work she had done with Ewing Engineering Company in Milwaukee, her WW2 work at the Badger Munitions Facility, and working with Habitat for Humanity alongside Jimmy Carter.
The family appreciates the loving care and support that has been given to her and her family by the staff at Willamette Lutheran Retirement Community and Serenity Hospice.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private service and internment will be held at Restlawn Cemetery, Salem Oregon.
