Marjorie Ann Ward passed away July 3 surrounded by her loving family.Her strength of character, passion for family, and faith-based life leaves the legacy of a life well lived.Marjorie leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Gilbert Ward; sisters Dorothy Shearer and Alicia Knox; children Gil Ward, Christi (Charles) Landes, Sherri (Ray) Beaty, Nanci (Marty) Friesen and Janet (JohnMike) McHugh; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Marjorie was born in Salem to Roy and Mildred Blanchard. She attended Swegle Elementary, Parrish and Salem High School.As a devoted wife and mother Marjorie always placed family first. For many years Marjorie helped in the family business, Gil Ward Marine. She was a woman of prayer and simple faith. As a member of the First Church of the Nazarene she could frequently be found at the greeter’s desk with her special smile and open, friendly personality.Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1550 Market Street in Salem.
