LINCOLN CITY - Marvin Ball, 78, died suddenly of a heart attack. Marvin was born on December 3, 1928, to Wayne E. and Clara Ramsey Ball. He was raised and educated in Pueblo, Colorado. As a young man during World War II, Marvin worked for the Federal Ordinance Depot in Colorado. Marvin moved to Salem in 1947, where he met and married Judy Ball. They celebrated 59 years of marriage in August. After moving to Salem, he worked for Oregon State Highway Department in Salem and Lincoln City for 35 years. Marvin was a member of Court Street Christian Church in Salem, before moving his membership to Oceanlake Christian Church. His greatest joys were his family, his church family, fishing, camping, and the Oregon coast. Marvin is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Brandy and Jim Chastain of Hillsboro and Ken and Sharon Ball of Longview, Washington; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ball. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 12 at Oceanlake Christian Church, 2100 NE 21st, Lincoln City. In lieu of flowers, Marvin requested remembrances be given to your favorite charity. Arrangements are by Restlawn Funeral Home
