Mary May Lanser (Hillstrom) was born December 14, 1924 in Pettibone, North Dakota to Esther and Edwin Hillstrom. At age 18, Mary ventured to San Francisco, where she stayed with her brother, Edgar and his wife. Mary completed her education as a registered nurse at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, ND. On April 4, 1947, Mary married Peter Lanser in Minnesota. They had one daughter, Linda Marie (Lanser) Acidera. In 1950, the family relocated to Coquille, Oregon where they spent over 20 years in that community. Mary Lanser spent the last 35 years in Corvallis, Oregon. She worked as a nurse at athe OSU infirmiry for 12 years, but spent most of her time tending to her beautiful garden and family, she loved so dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Acidera and her husband Napoleon Acidera; her two grand-daughters, Lindsay Wise and her husband, Josh; Kylee Acidera and her great grand-daughter Jaia Acidera; her brother, Harold Hillstrom of Maple Valley, WA; her brother, Dale Hillstrom of Fargo, ND; her sister, Jean Nelson of Steele, ND. The celebration of her life will take place Friday, May 7th, 10 AM at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 Oak Grove Rd. NW, Salem, OR. Friends may view Thursday, May 6th, 4 to 7 PM at Restlawn Funeral Home. Donations can be made in Mary's name to the Benton County Hospice Center, in loving memory of Mary May Lanser.
